Fundraising & Development Director
Hello! My name's Meghan, and I am the Development Director for SaveAFox Rescue.
The red fox species has been my favorite animal for as long as I can remember. I never had been fortunate enough to see one until January of 2015 when I happened to look out a giant picture window where I worked and there she was. A floofy-as-can-be, bright orange fox, just hanging around a bird feeder, hoping to luck out as foxes do. I had the privilege of watching her for a couple minutes before she trotted off, never to be seen again.
When I relocated to Minnesota in 2015, I knew nothing about SaveAFox Rescue; it was just beginning to be formed and gain some traction in the public eye. I learned about SaveAFox in 2017 and immediately decided to sponsor Dixie, a now-permanent resident fox, who has earned herself the nickname "The Queen" for reasons that aren't too hard to guess! Soon after sponsoring Dixie and coming to visit the rescue a few times, I found some ways that I could help SaveAFox raise funds. I also maintain our website, write grants, and look for partnerships in our community as well as nationwide!
In my spare time, I make art using various mediums. Most of the time I just paint on canvas, but I also like to play with watercolor. This is what I spend most of my time doing, when I'm not working on something for the rescue. In the warmer months, I love working on my camper-van that my husband and I bought and converted last spring so that we could take trips around the country in it. We've been to both sides of the US in our van, and I would recommend a van build to anyone with a creative or innovative streak, who seeks adventure. (In my opinion, Utah is the most underrated state! It is SO beautiful and I can't wait to go back again this year!)
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about our rescue's funding, or anything else that I might be able to help with! We do receive A TON of emails, so I promise to get back to you as soon as I am able to!
Thanks for stopping by!
